Friends,
It is the new school year. With much hope parents bring their kids to reception. They pray for their kids, in church and at home. During trying times, be it a health issue or a psychological issue, they surrender them to God's care and continue to pray intensely.
Knowing well that we are living in an extremely secular society, parents' prayer for kids is very important. Only when they grow up God-oriented can we rightly claim that we have reared them well. Pope Francis wrote, "It is beautiful when mothers teach their little children to blow a kiss to Jesus or to Mother Mary. How much love there is in that! At that moment the child's heart becomes a place of prayer." Let us not think that we can manage our children purely by means of our intelligence and smart plans. Entrust them to God's hands.
He is the strongest and surest security. Beyond all personality development courses and seminars, it is the abiding presence of God and spiritual aptitude that can work wonders. The fact remains that children see God through their parents. Even if they disobey parents from time to time, influence of parents on children is lasting. At each instance a thought comes to their mind, "How did my appa, my mom manage a similar situation?" This applies to both father and mother, to each in one's own way. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam said, "If a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference. They are the father, the mother and the teacher."
Praying blessings on all children in the new school year!
